About me

Software engineer at Microsoft, based in Prague.

My story

I’m a software engineer based in Prague. I work at Microsoft on the MSBuild team, on the performance of the build tooling that millions of .NET developers use.

So far I’ve cut the overhead of the binary logger by 50% on both Windows and Linux, and built a daily measurement pipeline with a public dashboard that tracks MSBuild performance across dozens of build scenarios. I’ve also made tasks thread-safe as part of multithreaded MSBuild, and I use generative AI to automate engineering work such as detecting build performance regressions.

Before Microsoft I was a software engineer intern at Rapid7 on endpoint detection. I worked on a Python test automation framework running on AWS and Jenkins, and owned the nightly release verification cycle.

I studied at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University: a bachelor’s in General Computer Science, then a master’s in Discrete Models and Algorithms, which I finished with honors in 2026. Alongside my studies I worked on two Czech Science Foundation (GAČR) research projects on voting theory and election robustness, writing Python simulations of opinion diffusion and elections. My diploma thesis was “Computing Winner Robustness via Counting and Integration”.

Day to day I write C# and .NET. I have also worked in Python, Java, Rust and R. I speak Czech and English.

Away from work I shoot archery, go to the gym and play computer games. I also just love science, and lately that means astronomy.
